Fans Claim ‘Eras Tour’ Bracelets Lit Up After Taylor Swift Bought Masters

Some Taylor Swift fans appeared to get a major surprise after the singer announced that she bought back ownership of her first six albums.

Various social media users claimed that their Eras Tour bracelets started to light up in the days after Swift, 35, shared the news about her masters on Friday, May 30. Now-viral TikTok videos show the bracelets blinking with different colors, seemingly signaling Swift’s eras over the years.

“My bracelet from the Eras Tour is lighting up, she did it!!!” one fan wrote, alongside a video of them holding the glowing item in their hand.

Another fan had the bracelet hidden in a drawer, but the lights could still be seen. “Woke up to my Eras Tour wristband glowing,” they captioned a TikTok. A third user reported a similar experience, writing, “My Eras Tour bracelet today after Taylor got her masters back.”

Swift has not acknowledged the theory, but one TikTok creator appeared to debunk the fan videos.

In order to keep the wristbands after their Eras Tour show, some Swifties put the protective tab back into the bracelet to preserve the light-up powers. One TikTok user speculated that fans removed the tab after Swift’s masters announcement to make it look like the wristbands were lighting up again.

Taylor Swift Fans Think She Just Dropped a Major Hint About Her Next Album

The comments sections beneath the various viral videos are mixed — with some believing that the bracelets started lighting up and others claiming it was done for views. Either way, the Swifties are feeling the magic in the air.

Swift announced in a lengthy letter uploaded via her website on Friday that she officially owns her first six albums after years of drama regarding the rights to her masters.

“All the times I was this close, reaching out for it, only for it to fall through. I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away,” she wrote, in part. “That’s all in the past now. I really get to say these words: All of the music I’ve ever made now belongs to me.”

Billboard reported on Friday that Swift likely paid close to $360 million to buy back her catalog. Swift explained in her note that profits from the Eras Tour ultimately allowed her to make the purchase.

“All I’ve ever wanted was the opportunity to work hard enough to be able to one day purchase my music outright with no strings attached, no partnership [and] with full autonomy,” the singer shared. “I will forever be grateful to everyone at Shamrock Capital for being the first people to ever offer this to me.”
