Ariana Biermann Jokes About What She Learned From Parents’ Money Problems

Ariana Biermann is learning a lesson from watching her mom, Kim Zolciak, and her dad, Kroy Biermann, deal with money issues.

“There [are] times where I’ve thought about it in the sense of, I could never imagine my kid being in a situation I was in. That’s where I’ve gotten mad in the past, where I’m like, ‘This is actually crazy when you think about it,’” Ariana, 23, said on the Monday, June 9, episode of Gia Giudice’s “Casual Chaos” podcast. “But then I’m like, it’s my mom. It’s my mom and my dad. Nobody would’ve done this if there was another option. This would have never happened if there was another option. I just wish everything would have been handled sooner before it was far too late for anybody to come back from.”

Ariana said she “has watched” money ruin situations firsthand. While it’s unclear which specific situations Ariana was referring to, after Zolciak, 47, and Kroy, 39, split in 2023, Us Weekly confirmed that their mansion was in foreclosure and set to be auctioned off. The pair have denied speculations about their assets, with the auction later canceled.

“I think people think I was the reason my parents got in this money situation that they did. People think, like, me and my sister were spending like crazy, doing all these crazy things. I’m like, ‘No, not quite.’ I was shopping at Shein,” she said. “Listen, every Chanel bag I have, I have never bought one on my own. My mom has got them for me for Christmas, with apparently my money. But I just didn’t know so I guess I did buy one, I just was unaware of it. But like, I was shopping at Shein. I wasn’t, like, crazy. I didn’t need it. I’m not like that. I don’t know. You can make anything great. The outfit I wore to the premiere was $200 all around, the skirt and the corset and the scarf. With $800 shoes, but I love a shoe.”

When it comes to her siblings, Ariana noted that they “should never have to think” about money. (Zolciak welcomed Ariana and Brielle, 28, in a previous relationship, and they were later adopted by Kroy. Zolciak and Kroy share KJ, 14, Kash, 12, and twins Kaia and Kane, 11.)

Ariana, who stars on the new Bravo show Next Gen NYC, shared that “everything is starting to pick up” and she’s receiving “a lot” more brand deals.

“I’m like, ‘This is crazy.’ I mean, the first time I had $20,000 in my bank account, I actually thought that I was like, ‘Wow, I’m rich,’” she said. “I am rich because this is the most amount I’ve ever had in my bank account in my life. It’s like, ‘Wow, I’ve made so much more in my life. I can’t imagine what I would have been like if I had all my money.’ Now I have a great relationship with money and I will never be in a bad spot with it.”

Ariana alleged in the premiere episode of Next Gen NYC that Zolciak and Kroy “took” her money to pay household bills as they struggled with their finances. Ariana claimed that she didn’t speak to Kim after finding out about the situation — but now they have made amends.

“I just continue to build up and make my own money, support myself as being a 23-year-old and just continue to try to take every opportunity I can to build back up everything,” Ariana exclusively told Us earlier this month. “I think I’m the [most] financially stable I’ve ever been in my life, which is awesome. And my mom’s doing great too. She’s working really hard and has a lot of great things going for her, and my dad’s working too — so everything’s going in the right direction and moving forward.”

Ariana admitted that she and boyfriend Hudson McLeroy sometimes don’t see eye to eye over her lending money to her parents. Ariana, meanwhile, is determined not to let finances create a wedge in her family.

“I never want money to destroy a relationship with my family ever,” she told Us.
